Job Description
<p>We are seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations and materials planning for a manufacturing-focused environment.</p>
<p>This role is responsible for managing purchasing activities, supplier coordination, and inventory flow while ensuring cost control, compliance, and operational efficiency.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in fast-paced, process-driven environments with a strong understanding of supply chain and procurement practices.</p>
<p><strong>Location:</strong> Windsor, Ontario<br>
<strong>Wage:</strong> Up to $130,000 (based on experience)<br>
<strong>Start Date:</strong> As soon as possible<br>
<strong>Position Type:</strong> Full-Time, Permanent</p>
<h3><strong>Responsibilities may include:</strong></h3>
<h4><strong>Procurement & Materials Management</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Manage the flow of materials between internal operations and external suppliers
<li>Create, review, and release purchase orders with accurate and complete information
<li>Maintain ERP/MRP systems to support purchasing, tracking, and order follow-ups
<li>Monitor incoming materials and ensure timely receipt and issue resolution
</ul>
<h4><strong>Supplier Planning & Coordination</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Develop and manage supplier schedules to meet production and delivery requirements
<li>Communicate with vendors to ensure timelines, quality, and service expectations are met
<li>Identify and resolve supply chain challenges proactively
</ul>
<h4><strong>Reporting & Performance Monitoring</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Track and report on key purchasing and departmental performance metrics
<li>Maintain accurate records and system data to support decision-making
<li>Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
</ul>
<h4><strong>Compliance & Operational Standards</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and internal policies
<li>Support compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
<li>Verify materials meet required specifications and compliance standards
</ul>
<h4><strong>Team Leadership & Collaboration</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Provide direction and support to purchasing team members
<li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and quality
<li>Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes
</ul>
<h3><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Secondary school diploma required
<li>Post-secondary education in supply chain, business, or a related field is an asset
<li>Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or materials management
<li>Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
</ul>
<h3><strong>Technical Skills</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Experience with ERP/MRP systems
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
<li>Familiarity with quality and industry standards (e.g., ISO/IATF)
<li>Strong computer and data management skills
</ul>
