Job Description
<p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Customs Compliance Consultant to join a global logistics team. This role is responsible for providing technical customs expertise, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting operational teams, and identifying revenue-generating consulting opportunities.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate brings strong classification knowledge, consulting experience, and a deep understanding of CBSA regulations and Other Government Department (OGD) requirements.</p>
<p><strong>Location:</strong> Windsor, Ontario <br>
<strong>Wage:</strong> $70,000 to 75,000/year<br>
<strong>Start Date:</strong> As soon as possible<br>
<strong>Position Type:</strong> Full-Time, Remote</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities may include:</strong></p>
<p>Regulatory & Compliance Management</p>
<ul>
<li>Assign accurate HS tariff classifications
</ul>
<p>Audit & Verification Support</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist clients during CBSA Compliance Verifications and post-audit requirements
<li>Conduct mock compliance verification audits to identify and mitigate risks
<li>Manage customs rulings and regulatory interpretations
<li>Perform valuation assessments
</ul>
<p>Recovery & Financial Optimization</p>
<ul>
<li>Identify tax recovery opportunities (customs duties, GST/HST, drawbacks, excise tax, remissions)
<li>Prepare and submit blanket amendments, refunds, drawbacks, and remission claims
</ul>
<p>Client Consulting & Revenue Generation</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide consultative support to internal and external clients regarding technical customs inquiries
<li>Develop and maintain client commodity databases
<li>Present training seminars and webinars to internal and external stakeholders
<li>Identify upselling opportunities for additional consulting services
<li>Understand client challenges and proactively recommend compliance and advisory solutions
</ul>
<p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>5 years of experience in Customs Compliance, Customs Consulting, or a related regulatory role required.
<li>Strong knowledge of HS classification and customs regulations
<li>Experience in a consulting capacity
<li>In-depth knowledge of CBSA, OGD regulations, import/export permits, valuation rules, GST/HST application
<li>Advanced Excel skills (database mining, pivot tables, data manipulation)

Education & Certifications
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma (required)
<li>Customs Certified Specialist (CCS) – strongly preferred
<li>CTCS designation – asset
<li>Professional license – asset
