How do I apply for a job?

Visit our Job Board to browse available positions. Simply follow the prompts to upload your resume and complete the application form online. As part of the process, you will be asked some prescreening questions. Be sure to answer these questions honestly, as they help us match you with the best opportunities that fit your qualifications and experience.

Do I need to apply for multiple jobs?

Yes, but we recommend applying only to the roles that truly match your skills and experience. Submitting multiple applications for similar or unrelated positions can slow down the process. Our recruiters will evaluate your resume based on your experience, education, and availability, and will consider you for the most suitable open positions. Applying to more jobs does not increase your chances of being selected for an interview, so it's best to focus on roles that align with your qualifications.

How do I know the status of my application?

If selected for an interview, we will contact you by email. If you do not hear from us, it means your qualifications do not meet the requirements for the role at this time. However, your profile remains in our system for future opportunities.

Your profile remains in our system, so even if you're not selected right away, you may be considered for future roles that align with your qualifications.

What is the recruitment process like?

The process involves an initial screening, followed by interviews with our recruiters. Once we have a clear understanding of your skills and goals, we present your profile to our clients and assist with interview preparation and negotiations.

How long does the recruitment process take?

The duration of the recruitment process can vary depending on the specific role and the employer’s requirements. For most commercial positions, it typically takes between 1 to 2 weeks from application to placement.

What support can I expect during the hiring process?

Our recruiters are here to support you every step of the way. This includes resume advice, interview preparation, and addressing any questions or concerns you may have throughout the application and onboarding process.

How do I prepare for an interview?

Preparation is key! Review the job description, research the company, and be ready to discuss how your qualifications fit the role. Practice answering behavioural questions using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result), and prepare some questions to ask the interviewer about the role and company culture.

What documents are required during the hiring process?

No documents are required at the application stage, but you will need to provide details such as employment status, personal information, banking details, and emergency contact information during the onboarding process.

Do you conduct background and/or drug screenings?

Yes, for some of our clients, we conduct background checks and/or drug screenings based on their specific requirements.

Are there any fees for using your services?

No, there are no fees for job seekers. Our role is to connect you with suitable job opportunities based on your qualifications and the needs of our clients, at no cost to you.

Who will I be working for?

In most cases, while you are on assignment with one of our client companies, you will remain an employee of The Job Shoppe. We will handle your payroll, benefits, and other employment-related matters. However, if you are hired as a direct placement by one of our clients, you will begin as their employee on day one, and they will take over responsibility for your employment from the start.
