Vacation and Work Leaves FAQs
To request vacation time, complete the Vacation Request Form available in the portal at least two (2) weeks before your desired time off. Requests made through other methods, like phone calls or emails, will not be accepted.
You are eligible for vacation time after completing one year of employment, as per the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
Vacation pay is calculated as 4% of your total earnings, following the Employment Standards Act (ESA), and can be paid out upon request.
Associates accumulate 4% vacation pay on each week's paycheque. However, this is not automatically paid out. To request a payout, use the Vacation Pay Request Form in the self-serve portal.
Once your request is submitted, a representative will review the vacation calendar and notify you via email within 24 business hours if your request is approved or denied.
Vacation requests may be denied due to scheduling conflicts or blackout periods. If denied, you’ll need to discuss alternative dates with your supervisor.
Some of our clients experience high business volume during certain times of the year, especially between November and December, resulting in vacation blackout periods. During these periods, vacation requests may not be approved.
If you call in absent after being denied vacation, it will likely result in an attendance infraction and could lead to disciplinary action, including termination.
The Employment Standards Act provides several types of statutory leaves, including personal emergency leave, family medical leave, and bereavement leave. These leaves may vary in duration based on the type of leave and individual circumstances.
To apply for a work leave, fill out the Work Leave Request Form available in the portal. Provide any required documentation and ensure all details are accurate.
Work leave requests are typically reviewed, and you will receive a response within 24-48 business hours via email.
Yes, work leave extensions may be granted depending on the circumstances. You will need to submit a new request and provide updated documentation if required.
